The Only Metric I Really Care About

Here at GigMasters we track a number of different metrics to gauge the health of the business. We track our client traffic growth, our paid member growth, our upgrade rate, our renewal rate, our signup rate, our gig request conversion rate, our booking conversion rate, our member lead response time, our auto-renew opt-in rate, our average page download speed, our mobile, tablet, and desktop traffic breakdown, our Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn followers, our bounce rate, our burn rate, our Google rankings, our Bing rankings, our cost per click, our cost per conversion, the list goes on and on.

BUT .. there's only one metric I really care about.

The only metric I really care about is how much business we generate for our members. It's why we created GigMasters. We started back in 1997 long before 'marketplaces' and 'platforms' were the hot topics. We were determined from the very beginning to create a service that generates transactional business for our local musicians, entertainers and event services vendors. And its what we've been doing every day since 1997.

Internally we call this metric Total Booking Dollars. It's not how much revenue GigMasters has earned. It's how much revenue our members have earned. To date, that number is $141,864,066 and I am extremely proud of it.

So when anyone here starts to get lost in a sea of metrics and KPI's, we always remind ourselves to  refocus on the only one that really matters.
