Screencast - How To Leave Client Feedback

So this is my first blog posting of the new year and I thought I would use it as an opportunity to try out a new technology called screencasting. Actually I should clarify - screencasting is NOT a new technology – it’s just new to me. Screencasting is a technique that allows me to record actions on my computer screen and save it into a video format complete with narration. It’s a great tool for demonstrating and teaching.

So what does screencasting have to do with GigMasters?

Well, one of the challenges we face here at GigMasters is finding effective ways to communicate how-to’s and instructions to performers and clients on important topics in a way that is simple but clear. We have an excellent customer support team that handles all the emails & calls, and they find themselves answering many of the same questions over and over again – "How Do I Login?" "How Do I Book A Performer?" "How Do I Leave Client Feedback?" etc, etc. We have the standard Help / FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section that attempts to describe this stuff in words, but sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. That's where screencasting comes in.

What I’m going to attempt to do here is take one of our most frequently asked questions from clients 'How do I leave feedback for a performer?' and create a screencast demonstrating how this is done. I fully acknowledge this is just a prototype and that someone else could (and hopefully will) do a much better job. But I just want to get the ball rolling.

If screencasting turns out to be a viable method for educating our clients and performers on important GigMasters topics, then hopefully there will be more to come.

So without further adieu here is a link to my first screencast entitled 'How To Leave Client Feedback'
